I am currently not a member of either AUT or Natfhe, the two academic unions in the UK, and with this proposal I am unlikely to become one until I find out what happens in the vote. I know what should happen; it should be overwhelmingly thrown out. Without even considering the morality of the issue it should be glaringly obvious that it is not the union’s business to even consider things like this. This is one reason why unions piss me off.

By the way, did you know that the AUT membership overturned the previous boycott?
