All the time the smuggling of arms and movement of terrorists took place under the nose of the Sphynx and State didn’t get even get a whiff..
When Hamas “broke” through the border after Israel withdrew they were given almost a week to transport the stockpile of arms, explosives and drugs from Sinai into Gaza. [the MSM only showed people climbing over or through holes in the wall. They did not show the other openings with motor vehicles passing through might have had UN ambulances]
Imagine that all that stuff could suddenly appear and nobody on the Egyptian side be aware of it as the tourist bargain it proved to be; we’re not talking about the CIA here.

Now the Israeli/Sinai border is much longer and given Egypt’s interest in its peace treaty with the Israelis we can look forward to more episodes
