They’re not even trying to hide it anymore: First Iran’s Supreme Leader admits publicly that Iran has been funding Hezbollah and Hamas for years. Now Chipmunk Cheeks himself is bragging that he’s in the Iranians’ pocket, and has been there since 1982. What’s significant about that? That was the Lebanon war. What happened a year after that? Hezbollah bombed the U.S. military barracks in Beirut and murdered 299 American and French servicemen in their sleep. And yet–I will bet you a hundred dollars that the AP will still say in future articles that Israel “accuses” Iran of supplying Hamas and Hezbollah with weapons.

Where is the Syrian Goldstone Commission? The massacres go on every day, and yet, there is no world outcry of the sort we saw during the Gaza war in 2006. Syria has been using artillery on defenseless civilians every day, killing thousands, and now there’s word that chemical weapons are up next. Two words for the human rights crowd: White Phosphorous. No, three words: You’re all hypocrites. Just for kicks and giggles, I searched news releases by country at HRW’s site. Fourteen for Syria between 1997 and yesterday. For Israel: 33 during that same time period. Jeffrey Goldberg points out that Syria has now killed more of its own <strike>citizens</strike> civilians than Israel did during both Palestinian intifadas. (That’s why I keep reading–and liking–Goldberg, even though many think he’s too soft on the Palestinians and too hard on Israel. He’s nothing like the others on the left. He keeps reminding the world that Iran really does mean to destroy Israel, and it’s not just a game of words.

To get back to my original point: Of course there will be no Goldstone Commission for Syria, in spite of Bradley Burston’s hope for one. Oh, you’ve got Navi Pillay talking about war crimes trials for Syrians who ordered the barrages on civilians, but that’s about it. The UN is a toothless, anti-Israel organization that lives off taxpayer dollars and exists to extend its own [anti-Israel] agenda. Iran and Hezbollah are helping Syria murder its own citizens.

Jackson Diehl said it, and a chorus is beginning to emerge: The fall of Syria could bring the Iranian regime down with it.

If you’ve lost Joe Klein, you’ve lost Middle Europe: When even Time magazine correspondents are commenting on how crappy the deal between Fatah and Hamas is, you know that it stinks really, really, really badly.

Check the skies for flying porkers: The AP profiles Israeli peace moves toward Iran. Of course, being the AP, they tell you this:

Before the revolution, Israel and Iran were close allies. Some 100,000 Jews of Iranian descent live in Israel today, many with fond memories and still strong ties to friends and relatives in their homeland. An estimated 25,000 Jews still live in Iran.

But they don’t tell you this:

On the eve of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, 80,000 Jews lived in Iran. In the wake of the upheaval, tens of thousands of Jews, especially the wealthy, left the country, leaving behind vast amounts of property.

That second paragraph, of course, is why there is such a large population of Iranian Jews in Israel.

You just can’t stop the haters from making hateful asses of themselves: A columnist in the Las Vegas Review wrote about the special post-Shabbat caucuses in Nevada on Saturday night. She called out the Jew-hate code words (“New York Lawyers”, for one) and accused some of Ron Paul’s followers of being anti-Semitic. In the comments to the article, they prove her right.

AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Pull the other one: How can you tell Hassan Nasrallah is lying? His lips are moving.

Iran will not ask Lebanon’s Hezbollah to retaliate if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear facilities, the leader of the militant group said Tuesday.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah told thousands of supporters by video link that in case of such an Israeli attack on Iran, his leadership would make a decision about a response. Hezbollah is funded by Iran.

The One Is Not Happy: Shmuel Rosner, no fan of Benjamin Netanyahu’s, points out that Bibi is going to be around for a while yet, perhaps longer than the Obama Administration, which has tried so hard to get him kicked out of office. Cue world’s smallest violin.

And just for kicks and giggles: Ha’aretz is publishing the hacked emails of the Syrian administration. Georgie-Porgie Galloway is seen slobbering over the dictator’s murderous feet in the hopes of keeping his money coming in.

I’m not flying again until the TSA is gone.

It’s not anti-Zionism: When an Islamic cleric calls for the death of Jews, and says he was taken out of context after an outcry is raised, well, hey. It’s not just Zionists he’s talking about.

They’re not even trying to hide it anymore: The Iranians are now openly admitting that southern Lebanon is all theirs, and that Hezbullah are their bitches. And Syria, too, where Hezbullah guarded Bashar al-Assad during his recent public outing. Think we’ll have a world outcry about this? Of course not. They’re too busy dumping in Israeli settlers.

Intifada III, or testing the waters? Another Palestinian caught with another lot of pipe bombs. I think it’s the latter.

Sigh. Cyberwar. Hackers striking Israeli sites again, and a retaliation promised. No good is going to come of this, and there will be a lot of collateral damage.

What UN resolution? Ban Ki-Moon was in Lebanon this weekend, praising its adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 1701 which, among other things, demands that Hezbollah give up its arms. So what did Ban say?

He said that 1701 has brought an “unprecedented” degree of relative calm and stability to southern Lebanon, adding that the situation along the so-called Blue Line separating Israel and Lebanon – despite a number of serious incidents – has been largely stable since 2006.

Riiight. And also:

The U.N. Secretary General says he is “deeply concerned” about the military capacity of the Lebanese Hezbollah militant group and lack of progress in its disarmament.

Ban Ki-moon says the presence of any weapons outside Lebanese state authority is “not acceptable.”

The Hezbollah response? Mockery.

“I affirm today, firmly, decisively and with the greatest conviction the choice of armed resistance,” Nasrallah said. “These weapons, along with the Lebanese people and army, are the only guarantee of Lebanon’s protection.”

Mocking a demand by visiting UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon that Hezbollah lay down its weapons, Nasrallah said he was happy that Hezbollah’s military prowess was a cause for concern.

“Your concern, Secretary-General, reassures us and pleases us. What matters to us is that you are worried, and that America and Israel are worried with you,” he said in a televised speech marking a Shia holy day.

The pertinent clause in 1701: “resolutions 1559 (2004) and 1680 (2006), that require the disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon, so that, pursuant to the Lebanese cabinet decision of July 27, 2006, there will be no weapons or authority in Lebanon other than that of the Lebanese state.”

It’s good to know that Ban is content with the non-compliance of Lebanon’s armed groups. Also note: If this were Israel, there would be thousands of news stories insisting that Israel is in violation of UN resolutions. Nobody notes that Lebanon is in violation of a binding UN Security Council resolution. Well, except for us.

So, how much you figure he paid his people to vote for him? Oh, look. A little-read magazine touts an online poll as “person of the year,” and it turns out it’s: Turkey’s prime ministerErdogan, the man responsible for bringing Turkey into the Islamist orbit, severing ties with Israel, promoting jihad throughout the world, and bringing the cause of Turkish democracy back at least a century. Awesome.

Things the media never show you: Once again, the IDF releases a video that is ignored by the world media. Because it’s the one that proves Hamas is responsible for the civilian injuries resulting in Israel’s bombing of a Gaza weapons cache.

The footage shows the explosion caused by the direct hit of the weapons cache, as well as several secondary explosions. The warehouse continued burning for several hours.

In a civilian area. Remember this when the IDF goes back into Gaza next year, and the world media scream about casualties.

Good. About damned time Netanyahu came out against the Talibanization of some religious Jews in Israel. There is no room in Israel for a society that cannot treat women as equals. None.

That’s the last you’ll see of him: A guy threw a shoe at Mad Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to protest unemployment. Say buh-bye.

Not that they’re going to care: A katyusha rocket fired from Lebanon into Israel fell short and injured a Lebanese woman. Of course Hezbollah denies any knowledge, and UNIFIL? Well. The U stands for Useless.

Don’t expect the UN to do anything about this. They’re too busy getting ready to condemn Israel.

Apparently, he was kidnapped: Why any American would want to set foot in Iran is beyond me, but Robert Levinson was apparently kidnapped, and now, of course, a ransom is required.

What to do, what to do? Hamas’ Syrian sponsors are all tied up with that “Overthrow the Dorktator” thing, so Hamas is looking for new digs. Ah, Hamas struggling to survive as it is now. I’m loving it. (The JCPA does great work; contribute a few bucks if you can. I use the Daily Alert for many of my posts.)

Congress to Obama: No, we’re not going to ease off on Iran. So The One talks really big, but when it comes down to brass tacks, the administration wanted to back off from targeting Iran’s Central Bank. Congress is saying no. And the AP says it’s all election-year politics to make their Israel bonafides look good. Gee. It can’t possibly be to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, could it? One hundred senators all voted in favor of tougher sanctions. Ron Paul doesn’t give a damn about Israel. Media bias much?

Yeah, you try driving to NJ and back in one day and see if you don’t get home late and tired, particularly if you have to stop four times on the way for your elderly mother, and then wait for her to finish dinner and help her unpack and THEN take your brother to go get his car before heading home and see how YOU feel the next morning.

Boy, this is gonna piss off all the LA Times readers and then some: Three inconvenient truths about income disparity in the U.S., from a conservative point of view. Wait–what? No comments? Boy, someone in #occupy isn’t tweeting.

The most beautiful sound you’ll ever hear: Not “Maria”. The Syrian opposition telling the world that Iran can go pound sand once they take over and Assad’s people are gone. No more Syrian support for Hezbollah, either. Woo! This, of course, is why Hebollah and Iranians are in Syria right now, murdering Syrian civilians. Their precious “revolution” is on the line.

Burhan Ghalioun, the president of the Syrian National Council, said such moves would be part of a broader Syrian reorientation back into an alliance with the region’s major Arab powers.

Of course, their main target will still be Israel, but taking the Iran-Hezbollah-Syria axis offline would be a great benefit to Israel.

Speaking of Israel as Islamist target: Israel is strengthening other friendships as a result of the Arab spring. I think it’s wise, but I also think that the past history of Arab alliances will work in Israel’s favor. They do war on each other, after all. They’ll do it under Islamist governments, too.

Funny how that keeps happening: Those “spontaneous” protests against the U.K. embassy in Tehran? Not so much. Systematic destruction? Gee, color me shocked, shocked, to find out that there was a guiding hand behind the mob.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out: The U.K. expelled Iranian diplomats. Every nation that has any official Iranian presence should be on the lookout. They’re planning to attack U.S. Army bases in Germany if their nuclear plants are attacked.

But Karl Vick said Hamas is moderating! Yeah, not so much.

Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas is not serious about reconciling with political rival Hamas despite public statements to the contrary, a senior Hamas official said in an interview published Wednesday.

The official, Mahmoud Zahar, said Abbas “is not interested in achieving” a deal with Hamas, allegedly because the U.S. and Israel oppose it.

“Reconciliation will not be achieved at all,” Zahar told the London-based daily Asharq al-Awsat.

Of course the UN won’t blame the terrorists: Yeah. Like we haven’t heard this a thousand times before. Terrorists attack, Israel defends, the UN Secretary-General calls on “both sides” to “exercise restraint.” This, in spite of the fact that the rocket attacks are a clear violation of UNSCR 1701. The binding kind.

The Isfahan blast was sabotage: The Times of London says the explosion was intentional, and it hit the nuke plant. If that’s true, then good. VERY good. This is my favorite quote:

Major-General Giora Eiland, Israel’s former director of national security, told Israel’s army radio that the Isfahan blast was no accident. “There aren’t many coincidences, and when there are so many events there is probably some sort of guiding hand, though perhaps it’s the hand of God,” he said.

Perhaps.

We don’t need no steenking international law: Iran is once again violating the code of nations (but I repeat myself). “Protestors” stormed the British embassy grounds in Tehran.

We don’t need no steenking international law: Iran is once again violating the code of nations (but I repeat myself). “Protestors” stormed the British embassy grounds in Tehran. The Brits are probably smart enough to have evacuated the embassy, what with the Iranians passing a law (you have to laugh at that faux show of legality) to expel the British ambassador. And why the hissy fit? Because Britain is passing sanctions on Iran for violating the non-proliferation treaty it signed.

They’re probably going to be imprisoned when they get home: Israelis in Thailand saved two drowning Iranians, who were thankful until they were told their rescuers were Israelis. Then they ran. Poor guys. I’m sure the Iranian spy agencies read the foreign press. Jail and/or torture for their misfortune to have their lives saved by those evil, racist Zionists. Oh, one of their rescuers was an Iranian Jew. God really does work in mysterious ways. If the Iranians hadn’t forced so many Jews to flee, there would not have been one around to rescue the two men.

Calling Inspector Clouseau: Seriously? A UNIFIL investigation of the rockets that were fired from Lebanon into Israel yesterday? So, what are we going to hear, that they have no idea who did it, and anyway, they can’t investigate because every time they come to a Hizballah rocket site they get chased away by “protestors”?

… a spokesman for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon was quoted by Beirut’s radio as saying that “UNIFIL rejects reports suggesting any violation of UN Resolution 1701 and is working to restore normalcy.”

Yep. UNIFIL is on the case, even though there are thousands of violations of 1701 right under their noses. Katyusha rockets? Meh. Must have been some kids playing with fireworks.

Yeah, I’ve been saying that for years: Israeli leaders need to understand how incredibly wrong they are to ignore the PR front in so many nations. A group of Israeli teens encountered some raving anti-Israel Muslims in the U.K., but they also encountered extreme ignorance. The latter can be countered by a simple PR campaign.

But Yishai said: “We couldn’t believe it when we were asked if we rode to school on camels, and if there were roads in Israel. There was a collective gasp when we showed one class a picture of Tel Aviv.”

For someone who understands America so well, you’d think that Bibi Netanyahu would also understand that Israel needs a PR push every bit as hefty as the one the Palestinians started in the 1970s. Look where that got them. It wasn’t just terrorism that made them the left’s cause celebre. They have smooth, available, English-speaking propagandists for every major occasion. Israel is always a step behind on the accessibility and information train, and they tend to promote spokespeople with heavy accents. Not very smart.

Faster on that Leviathan field, please: Jihadis blew up the Sinai gas line again. (By the way, morons, you also deprive Jordan of gas and Egypt of desperately-needed money.)

Faster on that Leviathan field, please: Jihadis blew up the Sinai gas line again. (By the way, morons, you also deprive Jordan of gas and Egypt of desperately-needed money.) And they’re apparently massing to fight their fellows for a change, not Israel. And Tahrir Square is filling with protesters again. Awesome job the Obama administration is doing with the foreign policy thing.

This is why I don’t shop on Black Friday: Seriously? Pepper spraying fellow shoppers so you can get what you want? Seriously? And at a Wal-mart? Puh-leeze.

Meanwhile, back in <strike>Hizballahland</strike> Lebanon: The Lebanese prime minister is showing an extraordinary level of ballsiness, insisting he’ll quit if the Hizballah-allied cabinet cuts off funding for the Hariri tribunal. Interesting. So is this IDF assessment that the Lebanese army will fight alongside Hizballah in the next war. I don’t think they realize what that means. The devastation they saw in the Shia areas of Beirut is going to look like a picnic compared with an all-out war with Lebanon.

Meanwhile, back in Lebanon’s master’s state: The Arab League passed an ultimatum on Syrian violence yesterday. The deadline passed. The Arab League voted to extend the ultimatum today. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Syria’s going to ignore that one, too.

Wow, it’s totally non-useful! The UN voted to frown heavily in North Korea’s direction with a non-binding GA resolution. I’m going to guess that nobody is going to accuse North Korea of being in violation of non-binding UN resolutions the way the world accuses Israel of being in violation of non-binding resolutions (and rulings! cf: The Hague, Separation Fence). I suppose we should be happy that the UN is noting the real human rights violators, but then, they still have most of them on the UN Human Rights Council, so, really, what’s the point?
