2012 Voting Report

Ut-oh.

Four years ago, I wrote this:

I voted at 11:30. I was voter number 1590 in a precinct with about 3,000 registered voters.

I finished voting around noon today. I was voter number 1421.

Not liking that at all. I hope there’s a spike after work.

  1. Mario says:

It’s possible that it’s just redistricting or early voting. I would bet on the former, it only happens every ten years, after all.

  2. Sabba Hillel says:

Most people will vote either before work, during lunch, or after work. If you are in a residential area, then most people would vote between 5 and 7. I think that if you went by in the last hour, you will see the crowd.

One of the people at work went to vote in Silver Spring Maryland at 7 and it took him until 8 to actually vote and the line was longer when he finished than when he arrived.

  3. David Gerstman says:

I thought that you wrote that you’re in a deep blue part of Richmond. Isn’t it good that turnout’s down?

  4. No, I moved out of Richmond city into a nice, red town nearby.

  5. So basically, I was right to be worried.

    Sucks to be right, today.
