Tuesday morning political news briefs

Suck it up and pay for your own damned pensions: Scott Walker’s recall election is today, and it’s ending as ugly as it started. The unions are in full-blown panic mode, because when the government doesn’t take union dues out of your paycheck, it turns out that about two-thirds of union members don’t want to be part of that union, especially when it costs $1000 a year. Yeah, I don’t blame them. Back when I worked for the Post Office (during my college years), the only reason I joined the union was for the health care benefits.

Looks like the Obama Machine took Billy Jeff to the woodshed: A week after saying Mitt Romney has a “sterling business record,” Bill Clinton is now saying Romney would be calamitous for the country. Really? You mean, like, say, Obama was? (And props to the Rhodes Scholar for using a word that makes most Americans think, “Dude, really? Calamitous? Who talks like that?”)

Can you say, “Unjust cause”? Police stopped and handcuffed every single adult stopped at an intersection because they got a “reliable” tip that a bank robber was stopped at that red light. Effing unbelievable. What country is this, Russia?

And yet, there are no similar articles called “Gaza-christian-hate”: Get a load of not only this article, but the name given to it by the Guardians editors. They’re not even trying to hide their Jew hatred anymore. Here’s the full link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jun/04/israel-migrant-hate. Don’t bother reading the article. It’s your typical anti-Israel thing. Oh, and by the way: Thanks, jerks who are going to prison for trying to murder Eritrean refugees. Nothing like helping the world hate Israel even more than they do. Once again, I would like to ask: Where is the UNHCR on this? Why are they not creating refugee camps for the Africans in Israel, like they did for the Palestinians there and in other nations? Oh, come on, I know the answer. I’m just asking to shame them again.

They’ll probably refuse to release this one, too: The EU is conducting a survey on anti-Semitism by asking Jews for their “experiences and perceptions” about it. But don’t worry, when it turns out that Europe is fill with Muslim anti-Semites, the EU will probably refuse to release it, just like the one they did in 2004. (Yeah, I’ve been blogging a long, long time, and I remember these things.)

    Those people have no shame.

    Meryl,
The Eritreans are not refugees like the Sudanese, but migrants looking for work.
Unfortunately there are now a number of rapes, including a girl of 15, laid at their door.
