The Stewart/Colbert rally

Is it my imagination, or were the only black people at the rally onstage when the OJays sang “Love Train“?

Also, funny, isn’t it, that Stewart didn’t introduce Yusuf Islam by his full name? Oh, wait. I forgot. Cat Stevens has decided to drop the Islam bit for PR purposes.

I still love Cat Stevens’ music. I just refuse to buy it. I wish he’d go back to being a Buddhist.

The Roots, John Legend, and Mavis Staples also performed at the rally. And Kareem Abdul-Jabbar appeared as well.

wow, the National Mall. i was passing through when there was a concert celebrating the Obama inauguration. John Mellencamp was performing his greatest hit when the Current President is rumored to’ve turned to Joe Biden and said, “not really my scene. i’m more of a Philip Glass man” (Biden – unable to hear him – smiles and nods).
