Open auditions

This has been a really crappy 24 hours for me.

If any Israel-haters out there want to tell me what they think of Israel and my blog, now would be a perfect time to do it.

Perfect for me, anyway.

As in no amount of kitty-loves, chocolate and really good tequila will fix a crappy 24 hours?

    EEK

  2. No, this one needs a good, old-fashioned takedown of a moron. Alas, no one is taking up my challenge.

  3. Since you seem not to be busy, could you help me out with this? I am getting more and more baffled.

    Thanks.

  4. I’m not getting the distinction, Snoopy.

  5. Elisson says:

Illegitimis non carborundum, Meryl – don’t let the bastards grind you down. You do important work here, and the fact that you have morons to deal with is, alas, an unfortunate side effect. But I know you’re up to the challenge.

And Chag Sameach, for what it’s worth.

  6. It’s actually stuff in my personal life, not the blog. I just wanted an outlet last night, is all. Don’t need it anymore. Things are much better today.

  7. Gaia says:

All my support to you Meryl!

    ;0)

  8. Alex Bensky says:

Actually, Meryl, I could perhaps offer you some concrete assistance. Just murmur in a low but meaningful tone to whoever is involved, “My friend Alex takes a particular interest in my being treated properly and he’s from…Detroit.”

I have done a little criminal appellate work and…well, let’s just say fifty bucks and a plane ticket and I can deal with your…problem.

  9. Oh, I just wanted to check whether I am going mad or color blind. So far the results are conclusively positive: yes, I am.

Ok how about some annoying Israel criticizing cliches that never seem to go away from the MSM lexicon
    1. Their use of force is disproportionate
    2. You can only make peace with your enemies so negotiate with Hamas
    3. Killing Hamas terrorists will only create more terrorists
    4. People need to get to know each other and build trust so tear down the security fence
    5. Qassam rockets are crude and wildly inaccurate
    6. There is no military solution to terrorism so you need to address and solve the legitimate grievances of the Palestinian people.
    7. Security checkpints only humiliate the Palestinian people

Ok that is all I can come up with.

Ah Joel, I will oblige you if Meryl is not inclined to do so. With my compliments:

    1. Their use of force is disproportionate.
Israel’s enemies intend the destruction of Israel and the genocide of its Jewish inhabitants. What is the proportionate force to use against an enemy intending genocide?

    2. You can only make peace with your enemies so negotiate with Hamas.
Hamas (and the PA) does not want to make peace. Look at what they say and do. Only Israel wants to make peace. Israel cannot make peace with enemies who will not make peace with Israel under any circumstances.

    3. Killing Hamas terrorists will only create more terrorists.
But the terrorists killed will be dead and unable to kill any more Israelis. Kill enough terrorists and fewer Arabs will wish to become terrorists due to low life expectancy. Not all Arabs are mad with a deathwish.

    4. People need to get to know each other and build trust so tear down the security fence.
The better the Arabs have known the Israelis the easier they find it to kill Israelis. Good fences make good neighbors.

    5. Qassam rockets are crude and wildly inaccurate.
That is no comfort if you or your family are the ones killed by one. And if the Arabs make war on Israel, Israel has the perfect right to make war back at them. It’s in the UN Charter, incidentally, the right of self-defense.

    6. There is no military solution to terrorism so you need to address and solve the legitimate grievances of the Palestinian people.
First, there is a military solution: kill all the terrorists and those who support them. Second: The Palestinian Arabs have no legitimate grievances except against other Arabs. Third: The “Palestinian People” exist only as the distorted reflection of the Zionist, Jewish Israelis. If, G-d forbid, the Palis ever got their wish and destroyed Israel and wiped out the Jews, they would not last ten years, as all their Arab/Muslim neighbors closed in to steal their shares of the loot. Since the main method of warmaking for Arab armies is the competitive massacre of civilians, the Palis would be either dead of fled before long.

    7. Security checkpints only humiliate the Palestinian people.
The checkpoints are only there because the Palis started a war of terrorism. If they don’t like them all they have to do is stop the attacks and make a real, honest peace. They don’t want to do that. It’s their own responsibility that the checkpoints are there.

  12. Alex Bensky says:

Let’s remember that when it comes to Israel “disproportionate” is a synonym for “effective.”

  13. Joel says:

Michael Lonie – the problem with you guys is that you place too much faith in logic. Remember “All We Are Saying Is Give Peace a Chance” lol!

  14. Pamela says:

    Meryl

When you get a chance, pamper yourself with a massage and a reflexology pedicure.

  15. You know what my favorite way of relaxing is? Hanging out with kids. I’ll be doing that today.
