Help save a cat

The South Suburban Humane society in Chicago Heights, IL has a young adult tortie named “Egypt” who will be put to sleep soon if she can’t find a home VERY soon. One of my readers let me know about it, but can’t find anyone to adopt. Anyone out there know anyone in Chicago looking for another cat?

Update: Here’s her profile online.

Update: Instalink! Thanks, Glenn.

Try calling PAWS Chicago on the north side at (773) 935-7297. They are a no kill shelter which sometimes takes cats from other shelters and also rescues every day from Animal Control. You can use my name (Rick Turley). My wife and I are long-time volunteers so the name may help but maybe not. I wish you the best of luck with this.

I have relatives in Chicago, but it turns out that my new sister-in-law is deathly allergic to cats.

I have three rescue cats at home and cannot take in another until they finally pass from old age. Otherwise, I’d seriously consider figuring out how to get the cat down to Richmond.

I’ll check some more, but my Chicago area contacts are limited.

I just posted the info on my Facebook page. I have some relatives in Peoria who might be able to help. No promises though.
