I read the article and my attitude is similar to some articles that I read about why the Torah forbids granting clemency to a murderer, whether subject to the death penalty or exile (the equivalent of first degree or accidental homicide). One point is that we cannot determine what is in a person's heart, nor can we determine if Hashem has sent whatever trials and tribulations a person may have suffered as a kapara (atonement?) for whatever sins he or she may have done. In any case, she deserved capital punishment and is finally undergoing it.

Well, if that's what she believes then I guess it's up to God to sort it out. While she's still attached to the mortal coil, however, I see no reason to forgive her.
BTW, I voted for Obama as one of the top five people I'd like to kick in the crotch in a quiz on Facebook. At the time I felt badly about it (not for the sentiment itself, but for including him so high on the list along with dictators and mass murderers) but with each new such smiley-threat my regret dissolves.

Sabba Hillel, did you read the article? She quoted the 23rd Psalm and appears to be of the opinion that because she repented, she's going to be forgiven.

Frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of people like Dershowitz, Koch, and Peretz (not that they are the only ones) who keep writing in their blogs that Obama is wrong on "this" and wrong on "that", and "he really doesn't mean what he said", but still insist that he's really, really, cross my heart and hope to die, Israel's friend.

Actually, the only way it would be a similar choice would be if they decided to operate on the cancer with no anesthetic. Allowing her to die in prison is actually a mercy.
