No, Gaza isn't as crowded as major, productive cities. But that's not the point. Tel Aviv, Hong Kong, New York, and Miama are sites of tremendous commerce and productivity; the fact that they can't grow enough food to feed the population in any of those is irrelevant, given that.
What does Gaza produce? It once was famous for its oranges and other agricultural products, but the production hasn't exactly expanded to keep pace with the population, which is uneducated and uncivilized -- and with governments that have ranged from the corrupt (Fatah) to the corrupt and utterly lunatic (Hamas). If the population was, say, 30,000, it could probably get by; with a million and a half, it won't.

I agree with Omri. That little rat Nasrallah is terrified to come out from his hidey hole for more than a few brief moments at a time for fear that a rocket with his name on it will find him.

Israel should hope Hezbollah jumps in.
It would clarify the situation, id est, the muslims are ganging up on the Jews, be the Jews in Israel, in Europe or wherever.
Not to mention, Israel would then have the grand opportunity of doing what they should have done in '06, which is pound and pound some more Hezbollah, lure Syria's military into the open, and then make short work of them.
This entire thing should be designed to lure Iran's chief stooge in the region out into the open, and make Syria pay dearly for their decades worth of terror sponsorship.
Israel needs to stop touch dancing with the proxies, and start going after the terror sponsors, Iran, Syria and S. Arabia.
And if the house of saud starts threatening the United States with economic warfare via oil, the Israelis should quietly, behind the scenes, but quite clearly threaten the lives of the many wastrels, I mean princes, in the house of saud.
If the house of saud makes its weight felt, by threatening to use the oil weapon, then Israel needs to start treating them as an open belligerent.
Israel is being subjected to an isolation that is tantamount to war, and has strategic consequences even in excess of those challenging Israel on her Northern and Southern border.
Start killing people.
Start wasting saud princes.
Start threatening to go rogue.
Israel's responsible behavior over the years has only advantaged her enemies, who Europeans cower before, because they know they'll go nuts whereas they know the Israelis won't do spit.
Time to go rogue.
Time to start killing people, who may pretend to be on the sidelines, but aren't.
