When Israel finally responds meaningfully most of the world will be appalled that Israel has been the one to break the truce, and the rest of the world will be sad at the cycle of violence being renewed. It's a "hudna", as in the one Muhammad had with his enemies many centuries ago - meaning a cease-fire in order to rearm and prepare for the next round. Apparently they think they are prepared. I expect the Pals are keeping their powder dry until after either the US or Israeli election. I think it will be very interesting as well, to see what Bush authorizes between the election and the inauguration. If I were an Iranian Mullah it would look like a good time to visit my Swiss villa or see about a 6 month teaching position in S.A. or Bahrain. I’m surprised at how long the “truce” has lasted.
