In celebration of Heller

In celebration of the Heller decision, I will be going to my second shooting lesson tomorrow. Or, as my friend Sarah puts it, I’m going to go shooty-bang-bang.

Report, and maybe pictures, tomorrow evening.

    Keep at it!

It’s a good skill to have as is a gun. Do you have any preference yet? I’m sure Tig wouldn’t be able to mess with it like he does the computer. Can’t see him pulling the trigger.

There’s a Second Amendment story/d’var Torah to be told in relation to Purim. The idea that the Jews had to be granted permission to defend themselves by the king so does not compute to American sensibilities that I think that idea needs to be pointed out to Jews occasionally, and tied in to a call for us to support Second Amendment rights.

Oh geez, Mog, you had to bring THAT up.

Tig has now opened up the Firefox help files, then changed my display to full screen, and he keeps on turning off my numlock key.

Now I’m going to have to get a weapons locker. Dammit.

    All right! Another armed American!

Let me know when you’re ready to start reloading your own bullets. I’ll talk you through buying your first press…. (cough… -Dillon 650- cough…)

Good luck with the lessons. Gun control is a skill acquired on a firing range.

BTW, after you have taken enough lessons to have some proficiency, including basic maintenance, your instructor should be able to direct you to group of suitable handguns for your size, trigger strength, and how you will carry it. My suggestion is to choose a weapon that you will carry on your person, never in your purse.

    Good luck.

    What chsw said.

Good for you, Meryl! Don’t fret about getting a safe. They come in all sizes and price points.

I strongly recommend you check out http://www.corneredcat.com. Lots of good female perspective there.

Tig is a resourceful little cat but doubt you need a gun safe. A lock should do it and reloading your own bullets is easy to learn if you are so inclined. But keep Tig away from that too.
