Daily Kos: L0ser

So let me see if I get this straight. Markos Moulitsas of the Daily Kos tried to defeat Joe Lieberman in his last Senate election. The Kos Kiddies did get Lieberman defeated in the Democratic primary, but Lieberman ran as an independent in the election and easily blew away his opponent to maintain his Senate seat. So Kos lost. His goal was to defeat Lieberman. He didn’t. And yet, he’s crowing:

I love it every time Lieberman does these things. It confirms, quite vividly, why we were right to target him despite the best efforts of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and the media. Booting him from the Democratic Party ballot line is still one the proudest accomplishments of our movement.

So keep it up, Joe! Speak at the Republican convention! Put yourself in the minority for the next four years! And don’t retire, because it’ll be delicious to take you out in 2012! You wouldn’t want to deny us that pleasure, would you Joe?

Counting those chickens awfully early, aren’t we? Because so far, the record is: Lieberman 1, Kos 0.

Oh, the thing that Lieberman is doing that’s pissing off Kos so much? Lieberman is working for John McCain. He’s being touted as a possible vice presidential pick. I don’t think it will happen.

He’s proud that he has control over the Democrats. Too bad he had to ruin the Democrats so thoroughly that independents can defeat them with ease.

  2. Michael Lonie says:

Really, the Lieberman affair tells you all you need to know about the Democrats today. All those Blue Dog Dems, like Jim Webb, should have paid more attention. So should any voters tempted to vote Democratic this year. The significance of the affair is this: Lieberman was purged from the Democratic Party for his excessive loyalty, in the eyes of the Party’s activists, to the United States of America.

  3. Corwin says:

Lieberman is a patriot. And what po’s the left so much is he dares,as a Jew show some loyalty to Israel.Remember when people complained of Jews having a divided loyalty? The way to prove you’re not a Zionist Jew to the Kossacks is to endorse every anti Israel measure-even if it hurts the US.The Left feels all loyalty belongs to ‘progressivism’.Whatever that is.

  4. Michael Lonie says:

You do them an injustice Corwin. The letist activists would have purged him even if he had no sympathy for Israel at all, because they seek the defeat of the United States in war, and he does not.

  5. Soccerdad says:

When did you become a Republican Meryl?

    :-)

  6. Michael Lonie says:

    Soccerdad,
Maybe she’s one of those Reagan Democrats. That’s a Democrat repulsed by the Democratic Party for its embracing of America’s enemies, and the determination of the Dem activists to see America defeated.

As the Dems move in a leftward direction many people cannot follow their lemming-like progression over the cliff. It’a like Ron himself said about the Dems after becoming a Republican: “I didn’t leave them, they left me.”

  7. Actually, I’m an independent. I used to be an independent who voted Democrat because I couldn’t stomach any of the Republican candidates. Then 9/11 occurred, and I find I can’t stomach any of the Democratic candidates since then.

I’m still very much a social liberal. I have few bones of contention with McCain. That’s why I’ll vote for him come November.

Would I have been able to vote for Romney? Doubtful. That would have been a “none of the above” vote.
