For centuries Jew-killing had been a sport that was virtually risk-free. Entebbe signifies a change--you can still declare your desire to kill Jews and you may still accomplish that goal...but there is now always the risk carried with it. As we see in Israel today, mobs may howl "Kill the Jews!" in the streets, but they are less likely actually to head for Jewish areas to do it and if they go, they may not return. This is the sort of thing that saddens a lot of professed friends of Israel, and quite a number of Jews. Israel does not live up to the high moral standards we developed when we had no power.
