"Hmmm... it's nice and warm here, but Meryl's lap is nicer and warmer. Think I'll go there."

Thanks, Herschel, I'll check to see if it's a loop or a straight rope. Good idea, to cut it.
As for Gracie, well, she's hissing and growling every time I open the door and show her our new kitten. She went over to him two nights ago and hissed at him through the door while he was meowing. I didn't mind that one, though, as it was bedtime and both Gracie and I were trying to sleep. And Tig3 shut up, quickly.
I'm planning on cleaning and kitten-proofing (as much as I can) the rest of the apartment this weekend, and letting Tig3 out early next week. Sarah is going to come over and help me put up mesh netting underneath the stairs that have no backs. It's a six-foot drop at its highest, and he's barely two months old. No sense taking chances.
Meantime, I'm shuttling back and forth between computers. If he lets me work, I stay in the office. If he won't leave me be, I work downstairs.
I find myself working downstairs a lot this week.

He is adorable!
The oversize paws means he most likely is a Maine Coon.
Regarding the "venetian blinds rope,"
make sure you cut the end of the loop so that it becomes two loose ends, to prevent him from getting tangled in the loop!
Also, how is Gracie relating to him?

He weighs in at a whole 1.9 lbs. on the scale. I'll have to get a picture of that later. He didn't register at all at first---it's an electric weight watchers' scale and he wasn't sitting on the sensors.

He's probably trying to find a way to convert it to a transmitter so he can communicate with his otherworldly overlords regarding their imminent takeover of our planet.
He's so little. Look at his aize compared to that plug.

Oh, sure. He's cute in that picture, but I just ran upstairs, heart in mouth, because I heard major thumps from the room where Tig is currently residing. I found him tangled up in the venetian blinds rope, on the third shelf of the bookshelf, knocking books down and crying.
The rope to the blinds is now on the very top of the bookshelf. I doubt it's high enough. I guess I have to hope he doesn't do anything too stupid before he gets big enough to take care of himself.
