Thank you.
Slim remains in the downstairs bathroom for now, but will start going out later this week. Or after he stops spraying.

Sorry for your loss, Joseph.
I didn't get a cat yesterday. I decided that if I drive out to Wendy's Cats, I'm coming home with one. So I'm going to wait until kitten season and make my choice with both options available.

Good luck finding your new kitty!
I know you are set on a Maine Coon type kitty, but based on my experience, apple head Siamese are really a special breed. They are very friendly, and chatter boxes once they feel secure.

We lost our Red Wull a week ago last Monday. He had cancer, too fast-growing, too big. I cried.
A week and a day later, a friend called. There was this big cat hanging around their porch, and they had all the cats they could handle.
We now have a chocolate-point Traditional Siamese, a big friendly cat.
You can never replace them. But you do find the love of another.
