The sad thing is that EATAFPD always falls during Lent, a time when many Christians do not eat meat. However, according to long tradition, Sundays are not fast days. And, of course, Sundays begin at sunset the evening before. Therefore, although I am avoiding meat at all other times, when the sun sets I will cook up my famous 6-species chili. Mmmm tasty!

The only sad thing about this year's EATAPETA day is that it's Shabbos, when I usually eat meat, anyway.
I may not roll on Shabbos, but if there's kosher meat... I'm there, wearing my holiday swag.
This year, I get to enjoy the fact that I have a new son-in-law (as of 3 weeks ago) to enjoy the celebration, which happens annually on my daughter's birthday.
The Ides of March: a bad day for Caesars and liberal totalitarian (ok, that's redundant) PETAniks.

I think I will set up my own little gathering at home and bar-b-que.
Glad Laurence reminded me. Last time I was in Nashville and had to celebrate in my hotel room.

Since March 15th is Shabbos Zachor and one of the requirements of Shabbos is 3 meals, and at least two of them must be full meals with wine and meat, lets really celebrate. Indeed how about a dvar torah comparing PETA and Amalek. Both attempt to destroy a nation by attacking at the weakest point. Both pretend to have a lofty goal but only want to kill.

Meryl, if you're going to do a Northern Virginia Meat-Up, keep me in the loop, please.
(There's a Ted's Montana Grill where I work, which has it's good and bad points. Good: Unusual meats, like Bison available. Bad: Owned by Ted Turner.)
