Would the deaths of these animals be less offensive if they were turned into fur coats, or meals for people who choose to eat cats and dogs, or if they were used in lab experiments? Would it be better if they died of old age in an animal shelter’s cage? The people who are really to blame are irresponsible pet owners who don’t spay and neuter, and people who buy from breeders. It’s a fantasy to believe that all stray animals – even the cute, healthy ones – will find a happy home.

Everybody needs to get this info into the mainstream press so all can hear and understand what peta and hsus is all about. They have so many little kids and ignorant people donating to their so called noble cause. Peta has said it is cheaper for them to kill the animals and not have to house them or feed them so they have more money for advertising like putting up billboards and handing out flyers to little kids at school.

A front group that defends veal, foie gras, fur, hunting, trapping and vivisection is against humanely euthanizing unwanted pets. Isn’t THAT hypocritical? What the “Center for Consumer Freedom” doesn’t mention is that PETA stepped in because rural North Carolina shelters were gassing and shooting these animals.

“No-kill” shelters sound like a nice alternative, but they’re very selective and fill up very quickly. PETA doesn’t even run a shelter, it just gets called in to do everyone else’s dirty work.

Why don’t you meat-eaters start your own group: “Meat Eaters Against Pet Euthanasia and Hypocrisy.”

The local animal shelter, Angels for Animals, in Columbiana, OH has a unique policy. They seem to like cats more than dogs, so they take each dog that they take in and place it with a mean cat.(Their description) If the dog exhibits “any”,aggressive behavior in response to this provocation, it is euthanasized. Hardly seems fair, but they say the dog could not be trusted in a family setting.

PETA and the HSUS are the propaganda arms of the Veganist Jihad. None – I repeat – NONE of these wingnuts give a fat damn about animals. Their sole goal is the forcible veganziation of the entire world, followed by the extinction of the entire human race (exept themselves, of course…) by hunger and famine.

Given that the CCF has used documented statements from PETA to back up their arguments, I’m more inclined to listen to them.

Also, if PETA can explain why their President uses insulin made from animal products and not see that as hypocritical, I might be more inclined to listen to them.

And I agree with Long_Rifle: I have doubts that the animals they destroyed were all old or infirm.

This should remind us all that Meryl’s annual EATAPETA day is fast approaching. Mmm, I can almost taste the veal already…or lamb, depending on whether at the moment I think fluffy little lambs or sad-eyed little calves are cuter.
