The Muslims are driving out all the religious minorities from their countries in the Middle East. This includes the Palestinian Authority. Some 75-80 peercent of Palestinian Arab Christians now live in Israel, and towns that used to have Christian majorities, like Bethlehem, now have Muslim ones. Pretty soon the only state in the Middle East where Christians will be able to live without fear of persecution will be the Jewish one, which is truly rich irony. Patriarch Sabbah Al-Kadhaab (the Liar) had better think about that reality, instead of sucking up to the persecuters of Christians.

Just one thing wrong with Tom Clancy's books is the peace deal Jack Ryan brokers. Jerusalem becomes an overseas province of Vatican City, with Swiss Guards providing security.

And guys like Sabbah in charge, presumably.

Never mind what the Orthodox would say about the allocation ... and how the Umma would take the sacred sites being under dhimmi domination! If Italy becomes Islamicized, no doubt we will learn that the Prophet also visited the Vatican in his travels, and so it is an Islamic holy site.

I assume, then, that he intends to speak out against all other nations with state religions - like Saudi Arabia, Iran, and, oh I don't know - perhaps Italy.

I'd tell him "we'll consider it when you decide to make Vatican City a secular state".

“If there’s a state of one religion, other religions are naturally discriminated against," Latin Patriarch Michael Sabbah told reporters....

Oh. Was the good patriarch referring to Saudi Arabia, perhaps?

“The one who will decide is Israel. If Israel decides for peace, there will be peace..."

Technically this can be considered correct as it is up to Israel to stop supporting and enabling the terrorists (such as setting up the PA or having antiIsrael organizations like "Shalom Achshav"). In fact just as alcoholism is a disease, terrorists suffer from a mental disease that can only be "cured" by tough love and not by enabling the behavior that must be "cured". Unfortunately, this is a fatal disease that can often only be cured by "giving" the terrorist what he claims he wants (death) rather than by surrendering to him and attempting to bribe him (such as with the state of Israel).
