So you understand what big-haired televangelists’ besmirching the name of Christ feels like to Christians. Never mind how much people of simple faith denounce such self-glorifying self-serving buffoons, the world sees only the image the MSM wants to ridicule. (Come to think of it, it’s not unlike the way the way the MSM portrays Israel.)

I don’t think anybody seriously thinks Madonna is now Jewish. She has made no attempt to convert (via any denomination), and I don’t recall her ever calling herself Jewish. She is simply enamored with kabbalah (for whatever that’s worth), and likes making public shows of support for Judaism, as a “thank you” for it.

I see this as a good thing. If I remember correctly, she no longer performs on Shabbat and has taken steps to clean up her image somewhat. I could easily see some not-quite-observant Jews deciding “if she can do it, so can I”, which is a good thing, regardless.

For reasons I don’t care to go into, I’ve seen both “Dude, Where’s My Car?” and “The Butterfly Effect.” So it seems to me entirely possible that Kutcher has become a better actor, since based on those two flicks he could hardly be worse.

Not to worry. The Hollywood attention span being what it is, they’ll be into something else in another year or two.

The day I see them in a real synagogue on Shabbat is they day I believe they’re interested in Judaism.

My fourth graders, I’m sure, know more about our religion than they.
