I just prefer them at a distance.&lt;/i&gt;

in the shadow of the trees in the late afternoon,
deafened by the roar from the nearby highway,
wishing I were home and to be there soon ...

Then the rain came down!
and the thunder drowned
the rumble of the trucks
just beyond the woods!

The lightning flashed
so I could see
the branches snap
from another tree!

No place to hide,
so I just walked
in the blinding storm
to my own back porch.

The next time someone prays
to be one with nature,
take him out in the rain
and see what he says</description>
