For Harry Potter fans, here’s a video of the author reading the first chapter of The Deathly Hallows. She’s a good reader. Authors used to read their books as a matter of course in the days when authors went on tour like rock stars. That pretty much ended in the early twentieth century. Shame.

If you ever have the time to attend conventions, writers still do dramatic readings at some of them.

Last year, at Dragon Con, I had the pleasure of attending a reading by Peter David, of a newly written short story.

I plan on attending several more such readings at this year’s D*C (Labor Day weekend, in Atlanta).

I heard it and it was good.

One point. just got it from the library but haven’t read it yet.

If Harry is a Horcrux, then it might be suicide for Voldemort to attack him.
