But they could be litter mates, they look that much alike. The only time he's mean is when I go to pull my hand away after scratching his belly, he grabs my hand with his paws to keep me from stopping, with the claws out, naturally! Tig is the Sultanate of Ailurastan. Ailurus, if I've spelled it correctly, is ancient Greek for cat. A paleontologist who taught a class I was in and who had discovered what he considered to be the ur-cat in the Black Hills of South Dakota, named it Thomas felisailurus. I don't know if he got the name to stick, the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature can be sticky about humorous names. He's getting nastier as he gets older. Can't get him shaved. I'd have to have him sedated, and the vet won't do that without bloodwork. Overall cost, upwards of $200. I think I'll pass. 'Course, he has mats right now that he's not letting me get to. Time for the flannel shirt and gloves treatment, I think.
