On the other hand, if Western Civilization is not to succumb to Islamist attack, it may someday be necessary to do something about the fifth columnists in the West who are apologists for and allies of the Islamofascists. As Joel says there is an alliance between the radical Leftists in the West who, dissatisfied with the outcome of the Cold WAr, still seek the destruction of the USA and the West, and the Islamists who want the same things. The radical Leftists think they will then successfully challenge the Islamists for the rule over the ruins, but they are deluding themselves. They will fail, just as they did in Iran.

I do not recall, in my reading about WWII, a great deal of tolerance for propaganda by Axis fifth columnists in Britain and America, not to mention legal harassment of those fighting the Axis by disloyal lawyers and activist groups. We should not tolerate it now either. The stakes are too high, and as a USSC Justice once said, the Constitution is not a suicide pact.
