And I can, too.

Jay’s fixed everything. He’s such a good guy.

Go ahead, comment away with impunity. I’ll even open up comments on the posts I closed them.

By the way…. linking to my site now works again, too. (Hint, hint.)

A Passover message from Iran

When I get back tonight, we can (hopefully) discuss how many things are wrong with this story from the Iranian news agency site:

Iranian Jews Ready to Defend National Interests
Tehran, April 1, IRNA

The Association of Iranian Jews here on Sunday renewed its commitment to defend the national interests of Iranians with the advent of the Iranian new year (1386), which the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution declared to be year of “national unity and Islamic solidarity.”
The association renewed its commitment in a message issued on the threshold of the Jewish religious festival of the Passover, which starts Monday night.

“In obedience to the instructions of Jesus, in the new Iranian year, which has been declared year of national unity and Islamic solidarity, Iranian Jews voice their readiness to defend all national interests of Iranians and to observe the guidelines set by Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) for the sake of strengthening national unity and solidarity in the fight against present-day pharaohs,” the message said.

It further said that Iranian Jews gave significance to the remarkable coincidence of the Passover festival with the advent of the Iranian new year.

Pesach (Passover) begins on the night of the 15th day of the month of Nissan. This annual Jewish festival celebrates the escape of Jews from the slaughter of the first-born in Egypt.

Okay. Let’s find the errors. First, of course, is the supposed reference by Jews to Jesus. Uh-huh. Sure. Next, we have Jews committing to defending an Islamic theocracy—voluntarily, without force being applied. Uh-huh. Did you know that Iranian Jews cannot leave Iran? Nope. No emigration allowed.

Next we have the supposed amazement at the coincidence of Pesach falling on the same day as the Iranian new year. Yawn. Shyeah. Because we care that they’re on the same day.

And finally, we have the mischracterization of Pesach.

Okay. Your turn. Find any I missed, but, um, you’ll have to email me unless you’re patient enough to wait for me to get some time to figure out why the database is only recognizing the main page and nothing else.

Now you can all tell me that you can’t access my site except for the main page.

Oh. Wait. I already knew that.

Never mind.

Yes, Evil Meryl comes out at the strangest of times.

The really cool thing: You can’t comment until I get things fixed around here. Ha. Ha, I say!

The Humpty-Dumpty world: Batsh*t crazy, indeed

Remember how I said that Muslims appear to go absolutely batshit crazy when it comes to Israel?

I’m tellin’ ya, I’m not wrong.

An editorial published Tuesday in the Saudi newspaper Okaz said that Israel persisted in employing any tactic possible to block the Middle East peace process.

According to the editorial, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s statement that he was willing to meet with any Arab leaders was one such step.

You see, the offer to meet with any Arab leaders in order to bring peace to the Middle East is—wait for it—a tactic to actually block peace efforts.

Batshit crazy.

I’m sayin’.

Okay. I know you can’t do anything except read the main page.

I’m working on it.

You should consider yourself lucky.

Until two minutes ago, I couldn’t read my own front page.

Because I was blocked by Bluehost.

Because I did something that led them to think I was trying to hack into them.

I’m glad they’re that wary of hackers. But it wasn’t helping me much in the meantime.

Anyway, bear with me. Things will get all better soon, even if I have to go back to writing the pages in HTML myself again.
