What he did was inexcusable, but one can assume that because WWI was in living memory, many Brits wanted to avoid a repeat. Of course what they got was something worse. It's also bad, as Mark Steyn has often pointed out, because at least Hitler went through the formality of diplomacy. Ahmedinejad(sp?) doesn't even do that. He gives the whole world the finger, and everyone accepts it. He takes hostages and shows them on television, and still you get poll results like this one. Sad. It’s worse than Neville really.
