They have gone so far that they have undermined the structure, and a heavy 100 year rain, or even a lesser one, is likely to lead to a landslide that would destroy the mosques as well as the rest of the Mount. The Muslims will then blame the Jews, of course, although the Israel Antiquities Authority has tried for years to get them to stop. The Muslims just ignore its orders, although it legally has jurisdiction over the site.
