Actually, bills are only as good as the people are willing to accept. As long as the Lebanese keep them circulating among themselves (and never try to cash them at a legitimate bank) they are just as “good” as whatever script the terrorists would print for themselves.

The only thing that prevents counterfeits from circulating and being as good as “real” bills is that people refuse (if they can) to accept them in payment.

It is the same as any check one of us may write.

I rememember the images of crisp $100.00 bills being doled out, I guess it would have been too much for our crack reporters to obtain one and have it analyzed for authenticity.
