Too many people would have simply taken his words as fact, instead of the mutterings of an anti-semitic, psychopath. The sad truth is that anyone reading that letter hoping to find a reasonable man... would agree with much of what he said. Certainly the writer and editors at the AP agree with their opening paragraph despite their sparse use of quotation marks. It just may be a good thing the AP left out the offensive remarks.
