Where the press has its priorities today…

My inbox just got 15% dumber:

CNN:
— Britney Spears files for divorce from her husband Kevin Federline, citing irreconcilable differences.

KHOU:
A court spokeswoman says Britney Spears has filed for divorce from rapper-dancer Kevin Federline, citing irreconcilable differences.

YAHOO:
A court spokeswoman says Britney Spears has filed for divorce from rapper-dancer Kevin Federline, citing irreconcilable differences.

Al-JAZEERAH:
Saddam returns to court to face Kurds
Saddam Hussein has returned to court to face charges of genocide against Iraq’s Kurds, two days after another panel sentenced him to death for crimes against humanity. Saddam, wearing a black suit and white shirt with a handkerchief, entered the court and took his seat quietly among the other six defendants on Tuesday.

*sigh* It’s a sad day when Al-Jazeerah has the least worthless alerts.

  1. Protagonist says:

At last count, there’s a 924 vote margin in the VA senate election. There’s 2299 write in votes.

Your “write-in campaign” may have cost George Allen the election. Good or bad depending on your political beliefs. Either way, it’s one for the blogosphere history books.

  2. Protagonist says:

Spoke too soon. Looks like Allen lost by almost 5000.

I wish we could just set a news filter to block all mention so Britney, Angelina, Michael Jackson, etc.

Why do we even know these people’s names?

  4. Please. If I have triple-digits in write-in votes, it will be nothing short of a miracle.

    Poor Britney ! NOT !! :)

  6. Alex Bensky says:

Inexplicably, neither Fox nor CNN dealt with the Yourish factor in the Virginia election.

And by the way, AOL’s opening page did not feature Britney Spears’ domestic situation. No, by golly, it did not. What it did offer was Kirstie Alley’s bikini-clad appearance on Oprah’s show.
