The threats seem to be getting more and more serious.
Tehran threatens. It seems that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s statement that “If Israel attacks Syrian it will get a crushing blow” was not said for nothing. Iranian sources told the Qatar-based newspaper al-Watan that “If Israel dares to attack Syria it will face a front from Tehran all the way to Gaza.”
Additionally they said: “There is a clear decision by the leadership and the people of Iran to protect Syria and face any threat it will be facing.”
The sources also said that Ahmadinejad told Assad during a phone conversation that “the Zionist-American threat on Damascus has reached a dangerous level, and there is no choice but to respond with a strong message so the aggressors will reconsider whether to launch a preventive attack against Syria.”
The prospect of a wider conflagration is emerging. Time to open up an “Iran” category.
I think Iran is a paper tiger.If it would be strong enogh it would have attect Isreal all ready.Thiis the time for the western world to attack Iran before it gets strong enougf to atack anybody.
I’m not inclined to dismiss Iran as a paper tiger. The Mad Mullahs and Gorilla Boy are pouring men, munition, and money into Southern Iraq to attack America. They consider that they are at war with us, and have been for 27 years, even if we have not had the wit to pay attention. As you say sigmond we should do something about it soon, before Iran gets nukes.
As for the threats I wonder what Iran has in mind. Logistically Iran cannot get to Syria except by sea or moving through Turkey. Either route runs the risk of US interference. I suspect Gorilla Boy is speaking of some terrorist actions, ramping up terrorism somehow. That would not need the logistical support of conventional military forces.
Perhaps he means NBC warheads for Hizbollah’s rockets. Dirty radioactive bombs, bioweapons, chemical gasses, such weapons used against Israel would be deadly. They would also have symbolic value for Holocaust denying Gorilla Boy, a down payment for a new Holocaust you might say. If Gorilla Boy wants to have Tehran nuked, that is a good way to accomplish his goal. I doubt the 12th Imam will return to save such obviously stupid lunatics from the just rewards of their folly, malevolence, and incompetence.
Or it might be that Gorilla Boy is just a tough talking blowhard and bully. Let us hope that is the case.
