EU will continue funding palestinian terrorism

The EU is “close” to a deal to give the terror state more money, by pretending that Mahmoud Abbas doesn’t also want to destroy Israel. Go read the “prisoner’s letter” again—he does. Trust me on that one. The reason, as always, is the “humanitarian crisis” developing in Gaza. Except there is none. Not when Hamas turns down $50 million in medical aid and demands the cash instead. Not when Hamas can find the cash for 3,000 AK-47s for its new “security force,” and Fatah finds the same for 2,500 members of its new “security force.” Not when the going rate is somewhere between $1500-$3000 for an AK-47. How many millions did it cost to clothe and arm the “security forces”?

As for the starving, dying palestinians—not seeing that happening, except in the fevered press releases of the international Israel-hating set. Funny how the palestinians manage to be starving and fat, while the starvation on the African continent generally manages to go unnoticed by the EU, at least, not to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars contributed each month.

And even worse, the EU is going to try to get Israel to channel the $50 million in tax money they collect each month from the palestinians (and someone please explain to me how the palestinians are paying this money if they’re as starved for cash as the media insist they are?) into the fund that will bypass Hamas—only to wind up in Abbas’ pockets. He is an unrepentant, unreformed PLO member. Don’t forget he was hand-picked by Yasser Arafat. You don’t get into that clique without espousing the palestinians raison d’etre: The destruction of Israel.

I hold out little hope that the situation is going to change. The only positive thing in all of this is that Hamas has been too stupid to play things the Arafat way: Pretend that you are reforming, and then secretly authorize terrorist attacks and continue working for the destruction of “the Zionist entity.” So the world can’t quite say that Hamas is moderating, at least, not without the rest of us pointing out that the emperor is naked.

Above all else, I am not surprised at the news. Disappointed, because I am ever the optimist, and hope that someday, the morons who support the PNA will wake up and realize that they’re just another side of the evil that is visible in public in Hamas, PIJ, and all the other declared terrorist organizations.

Yasser Arafat never changed. Neither has the PLO.

  1. The EU needs to listen to their sheiking observers who are watching guns, money, bombs, and parts crossing Rafah by the ton.

  2. the going rate is somewhere between $1500-$3000 for an AK-47

Off by an order of magnitude – as you might expect from the many seen in hands all over the place – even children who might be trusted with a weapon but not with $1500-3000.

Also the Model of 1947 aka AK-47 is long obsolete and replaced by modernized versions such as the AKM and others.

  3. It was $800 a few weeks ago. The $3000 figure was from the same article, but I hadn’t reread it to check facts.

It isn’t an order of magnitude, and as this article is a few weeks old, I wouldn’t be surprised if the price isn’t up to $1,000.

As for the model—well, that’s what the article says they use, and that’s what most articles that discuss the terrorists’ weapon of choice say they use. Except for the ones who manage to afford M-16s.

  4. Alex Bensky says:

Jeepers, Meryl, how unreasonable and demanding can you be? The EU actually made a couple of statements saying that having mass murder of Jews as the main thrust of your organization’s mission statement wasn’t very nice. The EU alsowaited several months before sending more money. For goodness sake, Meryl, what do you want–actual action to stop Jew killing?
