Ceasefire that never was

BBC (the new unbiased one) put up a question to the readers:

The art of asking questions has not escaped BBC’s attention. To start with the so called “ceasefire” - which was one big lie to start with. Hamas never intended to really stop the strife, carrying out its daily terrorism via the uncounted tentacles, such as Jihad Islami, PRC, PLFP etc. Moreover, Hamas openly declared that it will not interfere with the “freedom fighters” and, in fact, continued to support, to plan and to participate in these acts of war. So it was a sham.

But the question, as rendered by BBC, deftly skips this issue, channeling its responders into something completely different.

The Palestinian equivalent of the U.S.S. Maine?

Condemnations from all around the world are pouring in over the deaths of seven Palestinians on a Gaza beach from… from…

What did cause that explosion which led to their deaths, anyway?

Let’s take a break from the Cycle Of Blame and listen a minute to how the investigation is progressing

[Southern Command Chief Yoav] Galant added that the incident took place in close proximity to the area in which the former Dugit settlement was located - an area used by terror cells to fire Qassam rockets at Israel.

“We did not open fire toward the (Gaza beach) area, so it may have been a stray artillery shell,” he said. “We must also look into the possibility that the blast was caused by Palestinians who set off a bomb or dud.”

Hrm… interesting… so it’s quite possible that this was a Palestinian-caused explosion against Palestinian “civilians” on the beach?

You’d expect half-cocked reactions from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and even France, but perhaps those fuming with rage and condemnation will screech to a halt and apologize for their disporportionate diplomatic attacks on Israel once they realize the truth behind this incident?

I doubt it.

It would be illegal for a man to scratch, touch, or otherwise adjust his crotch in public.

There might be an exception for athletes who are adjusting their cups, but television network cameramen and producers would be thrown in jail if they showed it on TV.

Hamas calls off pretend truce

The mainstream media, as always, presents uncritically palestinian lies.

BEIT LAHIA, Gaza Strip Jun 9, 2006 (AP)— Hamas’ military wing backed out of a truce Friday after an Israeli artillery strike against suspected rocket-launching sites in Gaza hit a family beach picnic, killing seven people, including three children.

“The earthquake in the Zionist towns will start again,” said a leaflet distributed at a Hamas rally Friday night. “The resistance groups … will choose the proper place and time for the tough, strong and unique response.”

Israel and the Palestinians declared the truce in February 2005. Hamas, which has killed scores of Israelis in suicide bombings, has largely abided by the cease-fire.

Hamas has never abided by the truce. They have only stopped claiming responsibility for any attacks. They have actively aided the PRC, PIJ, and other terrorist groups, up to and including sending kassam rockets raining down on Israel.

There was no truce. There was merely Hamas pretending they weren’t responsible for terror attacks. Now, watch for the suicide attack attempts to redouble. The question is, will Ismail Haniyeh have the balls to claim responsibility for a Hamas suicide bombing, or is he smart enough to pretend he had nothing to do with it?

Whatever the outcome, as Lair Simon said, there will be a lot of dead Hamas members. This is also the excuse that Israel has been waiting for. The moment Hamas claims responsibility for a terror attack, the Hellfire missiles will be looking for Hamas legislators.

I predict new palestinian elections coming up soon. That is, as soon as the Hellfires find Haniyeh.
