Cutting straight to the point

Do the Swiss bankers have room in their vaults for these, too?

What is it with defense lawyers comparing everything happening to their clients to how the Nazis treated the Jews during the Holocaust?

Government lawyers tried to remove and confiscate the gold dental work known as “grills” or “grillz” from the mouths of two men facing drug charges.

“I’ve been doing this for over 30 years and I have never heard of anything like this,” said Richard J. Troberman, a forfeiture specialist and past president of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

“It sounds like Nazi Germany when they were removing the gold teeth from the bodies, but at least then they waited until they were dead,” he added

What a ridiculous comparison.

  • The drug dealers weren’t then shipped off to a work camp with “Work Makes You Free” in Ebonics over the gate, worked to death, and tossed into the furnaces.

  • When was the last time you went to Bed Bath and Beyond to go shopping for drug dealer-skin lampshades?
  • The drug dealers probably didn’t have any room on their bodies for any more tattoos.
  • How many Jews in 1930’s and 1940’s Europe had gold teeth just to show off?
  • The drug dealers actually had lawyers.
  • Was that a dentist they were brought to or Dr. Mengele? And were they just going to pull out the “grillz” or were they going to perform other medical experiments on the drug dealers?
  • The drug dealers were actual criminals and facing actual legitimate criminal charges against them.

I’m sure there’s other comparisons, but it takes me several days to recover from each reading of Night and I’m content to know that these two punks will likely get their teeth smashed in and robbed by their fellow thungs when they reach prison.

Gotta pay the lawyers somehow, you know.

Media lies exposed

And once again, on the heels of a supposed Hamas pronouncement of readiness to deal with Israel, we have Hamas saying “WTF? We never said that!”

Top Hamas officials denied reports on Friday that their new government was ready for a two-state solution with Israel or would present such a proposal to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

“That is not correct. Where did you hear that?” Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said in the Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis. He appeared shocked when asked by reporters if it was true.

Please note that the palestinian prime minister himself is the one who is saying, “WTF? We never said that!”

If anyone out there would like to make an mp3 of “WTF? We never said that!” and send it to me, I’m sure I can find a use for it in future podcasts.

Israel and Hamas: An analysis

Ze’ev Schiff has written a lengthy analysis of the current situation with Hamas, and how Israel can deal with the various scenarios. It’s rather a depressing read, but then, the situation has been rather depressing for the last forty years.

While Israel and the United States are trying to figure out what strategy to use vis-a-vis Hamas, the movement has already come up with a clear strategy of its own. However, Hamas is still trying to figure out which tactic to use. The assessment among Israel’s leaders is that decisions in principle have to be made as quickly as possible. The trouble is that Israel has no vision at all with regard to Hamas - that is, it is not clear how Israel sees the future, even if Hamas should fail in leading the Palestinian Authority.

Does Daylight Savings Time affect Peanut Butter Jelly Time? What about Hammer Time or Miller Time?

When are those other times, anyway?

The EU suspends direct aid to the PA

Color me very surprised: The EU has stopped payments to the PA — for now.

European Commission spokeswoman Emma Udwin said some $36.9 million marked for release later this year was at stake. She added that the temporary aid cut-off would not affect humanitarian aid sent to non-governmental organizations or to U.N. relief agencies.

“For the time being there are no payments to or through the Palestinian authority,” she said.

The decision affects aid coming from the EU general budget, not individual European countries. EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss Monday how European countries should deal with aid in the long-term.

It’s a start. Because in spite of stories that claim Hamas is “hinting” that they’re ready to recognize Israel (just read the weasel words and the conditions and you will see that is a lie), Hamas’ goal, as it has always been, is the destruction of the state of Israel and its replacement with an Islamic one.

The media is a ass*

In an AP story dated April 7, 6:13 a.m. (ET), the headline says:

Palestinian PM Refuses to Recognize Israel

In an AP story dated April 7, 7:45 a.m. (ET), the headline says:

Hamas: Ready for ‘2-State’ Solution

One of these things is not like the other.

Hamas has learned how to lie and play the gullible — one would even say, stupid — media hacks that report what they think the world wants to hear. From the first article:

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - In a wide-ranging interview with The Associated Press, Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas declined to recognize Israel, appealed for understanding from the United States and insisted that his Cabinet, not Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, will have control over security forces.

From the second article:

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) - The Islamic militant group Hamas is ready for a “two-state” solution with Israel, a senior official said Friday, a position that would imply recognition of the Jewish state for the first time.

The official said Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh planned to present a proposal to the moderate Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, in a meeting later Friday. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the proposal has not yet been submitted.

From the first article:

When asked if he was a pragmatic man and would recognize Israel, he switched to English: “That is a big question.”

He said there was no change in Hamas’ refusal to recognize Israel, renounce violence and respect all past accords signed by the Palestinian Authority - the three conditions Israel and the West have imposed for dealing with Hamas, which is listed as a terror group by the U.S. and European Union.

From the second article:

In a published interview Friday, Zahar said his government is prepared to discuss the idea of a settlement with Israel with the Quartet of international Mideast negotiator - the U.S., European Union, Russia and United Nations.

“Let us speak about what is the meaning of the two-state solution,” he told The Times of London. “We will ask them what is their concept concerning the two-state solution.”

I read the Times article. Haniyeh did not say he is ready for a two-state solution. He danced around the question in six different ways, and then made noises like he would be interested in it, but only after Israel returned to the ‘67 borders and agreed to the so-called “right of return” for palestinian refugees.

The AP is lying, and that lie will continue to spread, until the EU can say, “See? Hamas wants to discuss peace with Israel. We can give them money, they’re no longer terrorists.”

And in the meantime, Jews will die from terrorist attacks, and because Hamas doesn’t claim responsibility, the world will pretend they are not complicit.

What time is it, folks? That’s right, it’s Israel Double Standard Time.
