In the upside-down world of terrorism, this story makes sense. In the world of moral and ethical people, there are no words.
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) – An Israeli aircraft fired at three Palestinian gunmen trying to infiltrate Israel from the Gaza Strip on Sunday, killing one man and wounding the other two, according to Israeli and Palestinian officials.
The army said the three men were several yards from a fence near the Karni border crossing in northern Gaza when the airstrike occurred.
The Popular Resistance Committees, a tiny militant group, said all three gunmen were members. The group vowed retaliation for the killings, saying attacks would come after the Palestinian elections slated for Wednesday.
“The Popular Resistance Committee has the right to respond to the crime of assassination,” said a group spokesman, Abu Yousef.
The men were inspecting the area in preparation for future attacks, Abu Yousef said.
Tawfiq Abu Khoussa, spokesman for the Palestinian Interior Ministry, said an investigation was under way.
Let’s take these facts one at a time. First, three terrorists were fired upon as they were looking for a way to attack Israelis. One dead, two wounded (bad shooting, dammit). They are claimed by a terrorist group, and the AP is told by the terrorists that they were on a terrorism scouting mission.
And yet, the AP then quotes the terrorist as saying they now have the right to “respond” to the “crime” of assassination. And the AP publishes this, matter-of-fact.
But that isn’t quite enough. THEN the AP goes on to say that the PA is investigating the incident. The effing terrorists already said it was a scouting mission, already said these were terrorists, yet the PA spokesman says they are “investigating” the incident.
Would somebody please send these people back to the Tea Party from which they have strayed?

The “investigation” is to determine why they were caught and how to avoid getting caught in the future. Alternatively, the PA is investigating why the Israelis did not kill all three (which the PA would have preferred) as that leaves two alive to vote against the Fatah in the elections.
I guess the real question is why the PA didn’t take these three out? They claim to be Israel’s partner in trying to stamp out terrorism in the region, say they are trying to bring about calm and stability. They even have said that they have begun to patrol their own borders. Well, evidently not! I may hate the violence there, but these people could have caused more violence and unrest in the region, and if the PA wants to work with us to prevent violence, they should be eliminating these threats before they become threats.

See, when it hurts Israel then it’s in the national security interest, just like the sting operation by the Feds against AIPAC.
Maybe the three terrorists were the border patrol of the PA.
It is a source of never ending amusement that the Arabs huff and puff and declare that they are at war with Israel, then when Israel responds in an appropriate manner to people who are at war with her and trying to kill Israelis, the Arabs whine that the Israelis shot at them. Those Jews just don’t know their place, which is to be victims!
I suspect this is actually an important point in the psychopathology of the Arabs. The Jews are supposed to bare their throats when the Master Race comes to kill them. They are not supposed to resist and then, just to add injury to insult, win. This strikes at the fraglie amour-propre of the Muslims. It damages their gigantically overdeveloped egos. Time, long past time, for them to grow out of it.
