I was looking for a few Judy Garland DVDs to add to my collection, and came across a version of Singin’ in the Rain (Gene Kelly, because Amazon tries to get you interested in similar items, and he and Garland were in several movies together and I added “The Pirate” to my list), and, uh, oh.
This is coming to Amazon.com in a little over a week: The Warner Classics Mega Collection. You can have it for the low Amazon price of $1,449.98, with free shipping. It’s somewhere around 200 titles. I lost count.
Holy crap. That’s a LOT of movies. It’d take years to watch them all.
No thanks. I just want The Pirate and a few others.
Just get cable from a system that has Turner Classic Movies and lay in a stock of recording material. Everything will show up eventually.
You’ll like “The Pirate.” It’s not Kelly’s best but it’s well worth a couple of hours.
