Better than them

The palestinians hide behind civilians–particularly children–all the time.

The Israeli Supreme Court has just said the IDF may not use civilians as “human shields.”

JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel’s Supreme Court on Thursday banned the military’s practice of using Palestinian civilians as “human shields” in arrest raids, saying it violates international law.

I will be waiting for the same human rights organizations to protest the palestinian practice of hiding among civilians and firing on Israelis.

I will not be holding my breath.

By the way, look at the anti-Israel spin in the next breath of the lead:

The ruling was a rare instance in which the court took a stand in Israel’s conflict with the Palestinians. The Supreme Court has often deferred to security arguments despite international condemnation of some Israeli practices. It has upheld practices such as targeted killings of Palestinian militants.

First, they paint the court as a puppet that automatically takes Israel’s side. Gee. Could that be because, well, the court is an Israeli court? That’s like saying that the American Supreme Court takes the American side in a conflict. Duh.

Secondly, they mention the targeted executions of terrorists–murderers who have executed or masterminded the death of Israeli civilians–in the context of “international condemnation.” Someone needs to tell me when international condemnation has suddenly taken on a legal aspect. Genetic modification of food carries international condemnation. So what?

The anti-Israel bias just keeps rolling along. Hm. Sounds like a good idea for a song.

Iran’s war against the West

Tony Blair says Iran “or Hezbollah”–which is, uh, completely backed and financed by Iran–is behind the new explosives in Iraq that are killing so many hundreds of people.

“What is clear is that there have been new explosive devices used, not just against British troops but elsewhere in Iraq,” Blair said during a news conference with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

“The particular nature of those devices lead us either to Iranian elements or to Hezbollah, because they are similar to the devices used by Hezbollah.

“However, we cannot be sure of this at the present time.”

A senior British official first made the accusation against Iran at a Wednesday briefing, saying Britain believed Iran’s Revolutionary Guard supplied that technology used to kill eight British soldiers in incidents over the summer.

The official, briefing reporters on condition of anonymity, said there was evidence that Iran was in contact with Sunni Muslim insurgent groups battling coalition troops in Iraq. He did not specify whether the alleged Iranian technology also was responsible for American soldiers’ deaths, according to Press Association.

Apparently, Iran doesn’t care how many Shi’ites die, as long as they kill infidels as well.

However, we already knew that.
